Finished Object: Harper Tunic

Well, hello there. It’s been a minute, but I had plans to update way earlier and clearly that never happened. I’m back today with photos of one of the many projects I’ve finished since last posting, as well as some (hopefully) exciting news about the 100 Day Project (more on that later).

First up, though, is my Harper Tunic. I finished this a few days ago, and it’s actually my second (though my first was purchased from Elizabeth Suzann, not made by me). I love the way the tunic fits, and the giant asymmetrical pocket is so fun.

I feel especially proud because while I didn’t explicitly set out to pattern match the pocket, I did have the thought of at least aligning the stripes of the pocket to the main body of the tunic. I also got these very cute “Handmade” tags from Blackbird Fabrics, and I sewed that to the back, just under the neck binding. I love the photo because you can also see the black stitching and how it looks on the fabric.

Some extra details, as well as styling photos with some of my other clothes:

  • The fabric came from Sew by Sew, one of my favorite online fabric stores that deals exclusively in deadstock fabric. I ended up with it through one of their mystery boxes, which is SO much fun to open.
  • The pants I’m wearing are Clyde pants I picked up in an online sample sale.
  • My boots are Continental Chelsea Boots in Dark Blue Vegan Suede from Will’s Vegan Store.
  • The brown sweater with blue colorwork I’m wearing below is Forestland by Jennifer Steingass. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like Jennifer has an off-Ravelry store.
  • The blue button-up is a thrifted Wrangler work shirt.

In other news, I’m planning on participating in the 100 Day Project that I linked to above. The premise is simple: pick something (anything really) and do it for 100 days in a row. Mine will be crafting (to include but isn’t limited to knitting, crochet, sewing, and mending), and I’m excited to push myself toward a more regular rhythm of both crafting AND sharing my crafting with others. I’ll mostly be posting updates on my Instagram account, but I’m hoping to also ignite my desire to blog a bit more, so you’ll probably see me around these parts a bit more regularly. If you’re participating in the project too, I’d love to know so I can follow along. Drop me a link in the comments or shoot me a message on Instagram.
